What are money blocks and how can I get rid of them?

Have you ever noticed that people who win the lottery or get extra money some other way often have lost it with a year or so? I know this has happened to me in past – I would get a bonus at work then either next month my bonus was down or extra expenses appeared as if from nowhere! This is a money block in operation – a subconscious belief that I deserve to only have a certain amount of money and that if I have more I must create (subconsciously of course) a way to reduce the amount of money I have.

Childhood experiences with money can create money blocksSimilarly most people have a money minimum – an amount that they subconsciously don’t want to go below. And if disaster strikes and money is lost suddenly they find ways to generate extra income or save expenses to make up for it.

It is like these money blocks work as a giant money thermostat that controls and limits how much or how little we earn. What if you could change the settings on this thermostat. allowing you to make more money?

Wouldn’t it be great if you could change your money blocks and be more abundant? I will talk about some ways to do this below. But first where do money blocks come from? They may be things that your family said about money when you were a child – “money doesn’t grow on trees”, “rich people are greedy”, “money is the root of all evil”. Or perhaps they were behaviors that you saw in your family or on TV that as a young child you copied – perhaps money causes arguments, there is not enough money to buy everything you want or it takes hard work to earn money. These beliefs or patterns about money are stored in our subconscious mind – trying in their own way to protected us from the harm that a child perceives. Even in now in our life they may be hurting rather than harming us, these programs are still running every day, controlling our behavior and results.

Here are some common money blocks that most people have:

  • Resistance to change
  • Doubt and worry
  • Fear of change
  • Money zapping decisions
  • Fear of growth
  • Fear of success
  • Fear of rejection
  • Fear of numbers
  • Indecision
  • Feeling stuck
  • Clutter and financial mess
  • Family blocks
  • Blame, shame and guilt
  • Self sabotage
  • Lack of self worth
  • Financial illusions
  • Fear of scarcity

I have tried many ways to change my money blocks over the years and one of the best ways I have found so far are the Christie Marie Sheldon courses such as Love or Above and Unlimited Abundance. I will talk more about these in my review in a few days. Stay tuned!
